What one player reported
In their demo build, the only place to buy new seeds or decor was through a toad, since the wider town wasn’t accessible yet. No name, backstory, or schedule for this character has been shared anywhere we’ve found.
Is this the only shop?
Almost certainly not at launch — pre-launch datamined files name several actual shops in town (see our shops page). The toad may be a demo-specific stand-in, an early-game convenience, or a genuine recurring character. We’re not guessing which.
